Synthesis of N-substituted-1-Hydroxy-2-Ethyl Thiourea Derivatives

Abstract

|
The six new N-substituted-1-hydroxy-2-ethyl thioureas as antibacterial agents were synthesized. Alkyl amines, CS2 and sodium hydroxide were reacted and then treated with ethylchloroformate. The resulting reaction mixture were rearranged to give isothiocyanates, which reacted with d-2-amino-1-butanol to yield the N-substituted-1-hydroxy-2-ethyl thiouera derivatives.
